They’re concerned with figuring out the next steps in their lives and discover who they are. The first game put you in the role of a group of college kids. While Oxenfree II looks to offer the familiar combination of relatable life struggles and mysterious otherworldly horror. This puts her in the path of Parentage, a cult seeking to use the anomalies to bring an unknown entity into the world. After meeting up with an old classmate named Jacob, Riley sets to exploring the island. She soon discovers issues with electronics around the town, leading her to electrical anomalies and worse. Oxenfree II stars Riley, a physically capable woman returning to her hometown of Camena (conveniently close to the original game’s setting of Edwards Island). I got a chance to attend a hands-off demo of the new game and came back more excited than ever. Departing from the college-aged protagonists of the original, Oxenfree II follows a pair of more established adults as they investigate supernatural occurrences near the island setting of the first game. While most of the endings of the original game put a firm cap on protagonist Alex’s story, the supernatural events that drive the plot linger. So they lose touch and nothing ever happens between them, but it’s unclear without hearing the voiceover (or knowing exactly what kind of dialogue you used and choices you made) if you possibly alienated Ren and aren’t good friends anymore!<Ĭlarissa either hates you or is friendly with you depending on whether you agreed to the ghost’s “deal” at first but then still took her with you, or said no straight off (whether she looks pissed in the photo or is smiling can help you determine that).Oxenfree was an amazing indie game marrying a coming of age story with a puzzle box story and a healthy dose of cosmic horror. Whatever course you took >! didn’t lead to Ren and Nona becoming a couple, or he’d have been standing between Nona and Alex. I have a vague overview but there’s a lot of details I can’t be sure of because they get explained during the voiceover based on your “behavior” throughout the entire game, even though the photo helps determine certain things I hate thiiiiiiiiiis, but this game is very cool. However, I must have screwed up something because in the end I did not break the loop and restarted from the beginning. So Nona and Ren did not date but I was good with Jonas. UPDATE: Thanks, everyone for the help! After reading your suggestions I decided to give it a go and finish it again. What ending did I get?Are you able to tell from this information? The screen then fades to black and Alex proceeds to say what happened to everyone. However, in the end, Ren repeats the same thing, but someone else says " it's probably nothing ". What I saw from the ending was Ren saying something while we were all on the boat going away from the island after having "won". Can someone help me find a video of the right ending? I don't want to replay the last hour as it was quite heavy and generally I don't like to do that. During the final cutscene the game froze and was unable to see the ending. Spoilers Ahead! I was playing the game for the first time on my Steam Deck on an airplane and got to the end. If you have any questions or concerns about anything above, please send a message to the moderators.
